The 8” Preferred jump height includes some former World Team members and a former National Agility Champion, in addition to several other talented dogs who have run at the 12” Regular and 8” Preferred jump heights.
Sheltie Dani and her handler, Susan Leitner, are back to defend their title of PNAC champion, having won the 8” Preferred height last year. Other past national champions include sheltie Rock-It and Barb Davis (NAC 2006, PNAC 2014) and sheltie Sparkle and Patti Gagnon (NAC 2011 at 12”). Rock-It represented the USA at the 2006 AWC in Switzerland.Sheltie Trip, with handler Brittany Schaezler, recently moved into the 8” Preferred class and finished 2015 as the fastest 8″ dog. Shelties Spec and Jean Lavalley, Kaboo and Jennifer Crank, and Tag and Jeri Prekop are other fast and competitive teams to look out for.
Parsons russell terrier Tommy with junior handler Deva Wilson is no stranger to the national stage, and the team recently ran in the televised finals at Westminster. He finished 2015 in the Power60. Rat terrier Woody and Dave Mancino, all-American Jeter and Kaela Morris, poodle Ava and Valerie Taylor, and miniature schnauzer Ruger and John Rowe will also be giving the shelties a run for their money.
